Principal's Note

Dear Parents/Guardians,
I hope that all of you had an enjoyable summer and had some time for rest and relaxation. I am looking forward to a great school year ahead.  I would like to welcome those who are new to our Shannondale family, and I’m sure that you will feel right at home here.  Our front office as well as our faculty and staff are great resources and are always here to assist in any way they can.  Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance.
We have some new members on our faculty: Mrs. Acres is our new secretary and Mrs. Williford is our new bookkeeper. Mrs. Stephanie Fletcher, 2nd grade, Ms. Barker who will be teaching 3rd grade, Mr. Lynn and Mrs. Hickman who will be teaching 5th grade and Ms. Blackwell who will be teaching Physical Education. Also, Kathy Archer will be our new head custodian. I know that you join me in welcoming them to our school.  We are happy to have them as part of our Shannondale Family.
As we continue with our goal of excellence for all children, we will strive to prepare our students to be innovative, problem solving, and able to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. It is my sincere hope that all of us, parents/guardians, teachers, and staff will work together to foster in our students an enthusiasm for learning and an appreciation of education.  As co-instructors of your children, our faculty and I appreciate and depend on your assistance and cooperation with us in nurturing many aspects of their development. None of us can do it alone. It takes teamwork.
As you may already know, our school has undergone a major remodeling with the installation of new drop ceilings as well as new windows throughout the main building. We realize that this may have been somewhat of an inconvenience to some of you. However, I think that you would agree that the end result has been wonderful for our facility.
I extend heartfelt gratitude to our teachers who spent many hours decorating and organizing their classrooms before school opened and to our office staff who have done many behind the scenes organizational tasks.  I also thank our maintenance and cleaning staff for all their hard work painting and preparing the building for a new school year.

Sincerely
,
Jack Nealy
